UPDATE: MAN ALSO ARRESTED FOLLOWING HIT-AND-RUN

We have arrested a man as our investigation continues after a young girl was seriously injured in a collision involving a motorbike in Tamworth.

We were called to a footpath across a playing field near to Cambrian yesterday (Monday 13 July) following reports that a black motorbike, with a rider and passenger, had collided with a young girl who was on a push bike at around 4.10pm.

The girl was taken to hospital by ambulance where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Her injuries are believed to be potentially life-changing.

A 20-year-old man, from Tamworth, has been arrested this afternoon (Tuesday 14 July) on suspicion of cause serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody.

A 16-year-old boy, who was arrested last night on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink and driving while unfit through drugs, also remains in custody.

We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage.
